Customization FAQ

Who owns the intellectual property (IP) of the custom formula?

At LIZEE, we operate with a clear and firm principle: Your brand’s formula is your proprietary asset. We act strictly as your technical architect and manufacturing arm. From the moment the first lab sample is approved, the full ownership of that specific formulation belongs entirely to you.1Pre-Collaboration Legal Framework (NDA) We never begin a project without a formal legal shield. Our Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is designed to protect every layer of your innovation:The "Total Formula" Protection: This includes not only the list of ingredients (INCI) but also the exact concentrations, specific blending order, and temperature protocols that make your product unique.Sourcing Privacy: Any specific raw material suppliers or specialized active ingredients suggested by you are kept strictly confidential.Commercial Integrity & Anti-CompetitionAs a "family business" focused on long-term partnerships, we safeguard your market advantage by preventing any internal "cross-pollination" of ideas:Exclusive Customization: Once a formula is developed and finalized for your brand, it enters our "Restricted Archive." We guarantee that this specific formula will never be offered, sold, or "tweaked" for use by another client or competitor. No Brand Competition: LIZEE does not operate any house brands. We are dedicated 100% to contract manufacturing (B2B), which eliminates any conflict of interest. We succeed only when your brand succeeds.Formula Transparency & Regulatory FreedomWe believe in empowering our partners with the freedom to scale globally. We do not use formulas to "lock-in" our clients:Full Compliance Documentation: We provide all necessary technical data sheets, stability reports, and ingredient breakdowns required for your brand's regulatory filings (such as GMPC, FDA, or local health authority registrations).Strategic Independence: We respect the fact that for your brand to grow, you need full control over your IP. Our contract explicitly states that upon fulfillment of terms, the formula is yours to keep, manage, and protect as you see fit for your company’s valuation."Your success is our only metric. We build formulas to build your empire, not ours."In our 14 years of history, we have handled thousands of proprietary formulas without a single breach of trust. We understand that in the cosmetics industry, trust is the invisible ingredient in every bottle.

How long does the production process take?

At LIZEE, we understand that speed-to-market is a critical competitive advantage. In general, our end-to-end process from initial concept to finished product delivery takes 6 to 8 weeks. Standard Timeline BreakdownWeek 1-2: R&D & SamplingFormula development and client approval of the "bench samples."Week 3-4: Regulatory & SourcingParallel processing of ingredient procurement and regulatory filing to save time.Week 5-8: Mass Production & FillingCompounding, high-speed filling, quality control, and final assembly.Special Cases for Extended TimelinesWhile we strive for the fastest delivery, certain complex requirements may extend the timeline. These include:1. Custom Packaging Molds: If you require a unique, proprietary bottle shape that is not in our standard stock, the mold creation and testing process can add an extra 4 to 6 weeks.2. Sourcing Rare/Imported Ingredients: If your formula requires specific organic extracts or specialized active ingredients sourced from overseas, the global logistics and customs clearance may add 2 to 3 weeks.3. Extensive Clinical/Efficacy Testing: Standard safety tests are included in our 2-month window. However, specialized third-party "Clinical Efficacy Claims" (e.g., 28-day anti-aging trials) will naturally require more time.4. Complex Packaging Techniques: Multi-layered gift sets or intricate hand-assembled packaging may require additional production time compared to standard unit cartons."Planning ahead is the secret to a fast launch."To maintain the 6 to 8 weeks timeline, we recommend selecting from our "Pre-Verified Component Catalog" (bottles and jars we have in stock). This allows us to jump straight into production the moment your formula is approved.

What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for Personal Label?

At LIZEE, we understand that for a growing brand, MOQ is not just a number—it’s a balance of capital and quality. Since 2012, we have optimized our production lines to offer a standard threshold of 3,000 units per SKU for most custom formulations. However, because we believe in transparency, we want you to understand how different factors influence this:1. Category-Specific MinimumsSome products involve specialized high-speed machinery. To ensure the stability of the formula and the precision of the filling. Examples include, but are not limited to:Sheet Masks: Automated folding and sealing machines require large rolls of film. To avoid excessive material waste, the MOQ typically starts from 10,000 to 20,000 pieces.Monodose/Ampoules: Due to the specialized "Blow-Fill-Seal" or high-precision filling technology, these items usually require a minimum run to maintain machine calibration and sterility. These are just examples. Please consult our team for the specific MOQ of your desired product category.2. The Role of Packaging (The True Driver)Your choice of packaging is often the most significant factor in determining the final MOQ.Standard/Stock Components: If you select from our pre-verified inventory of bottles, jars, or tubes, we can easily maintain the 3,000-unit limit.Custom Tooling & Unique Shapes: If you require a unique bottle shape exclusive to your brand, packaging suppliers usually demand 10,000+ units to justify the cost of creating a new mold.Special Finishing: Techniques like silk-screening, UV coating, hot stamping, or custom color-spraying involve "machine setup waste." Using multiple processes on a small batch significantly increases the unit cost, so higher quantities are often recommended for better ROI.3. Secondary Packaging (Boxes & Sets)Adding an extra layer of branding often affects the MOQ:Standard Unit Cartons: To achieve high-quality offset printing and precise die-cutting, box suppliers typically have an MOQ of 3,000 units.Premium Gift Sets: Complex structures or manual assembly products may vary."We are not here to set barriers; we are here to help you cross them."If you are a startup with limited initial volume,  We suggests starting with Standard Components + High-Quality Labels/Screen Printing. This allows you to hit the 3,000-unit mark while keeping your brand looking premium. As your brand scales, we can transition to custom-molded packaging together.
